When our clients bought their lovely traditional home in the heart of Kemnay, they could see its potential but knew it needed some thoughtful updates. They wanted a generous space for cooking, eating, and spending time together – somewhere that would feel like a natural extension of the home’s character while bringing everything up to modern standards, including the bedrooms.

We worked hand-in-hand with them to design a beautiful, light-filled kitchen extension with plenty of room for both dining and relaxing. The space opens up to 360-degree views of their private garden, creating that wonderful connection between indoors and out. We also tucked in a cosy snug area – the perfect spot to escape with a book or enjoy a quiet cup of tea when the main space is buzzing with family life.

Upstairs, we reimagined the layout to give each of the main bedrooms its own spacious en-suite, adding that touch of everyday luxury that makes such a difference.

The final piece of the puzzle was a generous new double garage to replace the old one that had seen better days. We used timber cladding on both the garage and extension, which ties everything together beautifully and complements the traditional stone of the original house.

It was a real team effort, working alongside our clients, Craigmile Contractors, and our structural engineers to bring this whole project to life. The result is a home that honours its roots while working perfectly for modern family living.
